Project Summary: The goal for this project was to create a 60-second ad for social media in support of passing Measure Z. The main challenge was directing the narrator in delivering her lines with both emotion and conviction. In order to create an ad that felt professional, I meticulously reviewed several hours of footage of the narrator in order to move forward with the sound bytes that were most delivered most powerfully. Another obstacle involved in this project was how to incorporate footage from another videographer that EBASE originally worked with on this project. In order to weave in that footage without its color clashing with the different profile on my camera, I used that footage in gray-scale in an effort to minimize the conflict. In all, the ad worked successfully in encouraging voters to vote yes on Measure Z which ultimately passed!
Project Summary: Grammy-Award winning artist, Fantastic Negrito, returned to the Bay Area's UC Theatre after a lengthy international tour. I was hired to shoot footage of his performance and create a short ad for them to post to their social media accounts. The challenge of this piece was creating a multi-angle documentation of the event that aligned with actual audio from the concert. After receiving the audio from the concert, I was able to find a section that allowed me to use footage that I shot from the entire night. His team ultimately used the above ad to build anticipating for the upcoming release of his album, Please Don't Be Dead.
Project Summary: Surge Institute hired me to capture their graduation ceremony. In an effort to depict the magnitude of this day, I also weaved in footage from other events that I've been able to shoot with the graduating fellows over the year. The challenge of this project was to create a compelling narrative from the speakers that motivated prospective fellows to join their organization. In order to achieve this, I mapped out the key points that each speaker delivered and sculpted a storyline from a selection of those sound bytes that articulated the events of the day and overall vision of Surge Institute.
Project Summary: Office Yoga hired me to document their Teacher's Retreat. This event is aimed at encouraging prospective teachers to join their company. In order to convey the experience to those interested, I interviewed the attendees of this event as well as the owner of the company. In all, I used that footage to create an ad that depicted the actual training and emotions evoked during the process.
